Gift certificates
A gift certificate is a unique, redeemable code with a PDF and QR code, generated either from an approved donation request or issued manually by staff.

Fields
Section titled “Fields”- Unique code
- Amount — a fixed dollar value or a percentage
- Remaining/locked amount, for certificates that allow partial redemption
- Valid-from date and expiration date
- Recipient name, email, phone, and company
- Issuing staff member
- Reason and an optional internal tag
- The locations it can be redeemed at
- A link back to the originating campaign or request, if there is one
Statuses
Section titled “Statuses”| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | Valid and has remaining value |
| Redeemed | Fully used |
| Expired | Past its expiration date and no longer redeemable |
What staff can do
Section titled “What staff can do”- Resend the certificate email
- Change the expiration date
- Edit the internal tag
- Delete the certificate — there’s no separate “void” flag; deleting removes it

Partial vs. one-time redemption
