Feedback surveys

A feedback survey is a public star-rating form you send to customers. Unlike donation forms, feedback surveys are not embedded via avantly-front — they’re served directly by Avantly.

Configuring a feedback survey's rating bands

A survey starts with a rating question, then branches into one or more rating bands — ranges of star values you define yourself (for example, 1–3 stars vs. 4–5 stars). There’s no single fixed “high vs. low” threshold; you choose the bands and configure each one independently with:

  • An optional follow-up question
  • Its own “thank you” page
  • An action/link, which can be: Public Review, Reservation, Gift Card, Campaign, Manager Form, Recovery Offer, or Custom

A common setup: low ratings get a private follow-up question (so problems reach you before they become public reviews); high ratings get a “thank you” page that links to a public review site like Google Maps.

A preset is a saved, named set of hidden parameters attached to a survey. Presets are used to generate a unique QR code and shareable link for a specific context — a specific table, server, or event — so responses can be attributed back to that source without the customer entering anything extra.
