In Avantly, your business is a customer account. Everything else — campaigns, certificates, branding, users — belongs to a customer.

Parent-child hierarchy

Customers support a parent-child hierarchy, built for franchises and multi-location businesses:

A parent customer represents the overall business.
Child customers represent individual locations.
A user’s permissions on a parent customer can extend down to its child locations, so you don’t have to set up staff access separately at every site.
Gift certificates can be restricted to specific locations within the hierarchy — see Redemptions.

Where this matters

Branding defaults are per customer and can be overridden per campaign.
Redeeming a certificate shows staff only the locations they’re permitted to redeem at.
